Volunteers from West Middle School dedicated time Thursday to help clean up the bronze Veteran grave markers at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Four eighth grade students joined Veterans' Services Director Mark Comeiro in the effort. The markers signify the life and honor of any deceased Veterans buried in the cemetery.

Despite the heavy rain, they went through the cemetery and cleared off grave markers that had begun to sink into the ground and were covered with dirt and grass.
