ANDOVER — Selectmen Chairman Dan Kowalski and challenger Bob Landry topped the ballot, winning the two seats on the Board of Selectmen in Tuesday's town election.

The outcome spelled defeat for 18-year Board of Selectmen veteran Brian Major and challenger Neil Senior.

For the School Committee, challengers Susan McCready and Ted Teichert were elected to fill the two, three-years seats, defeating incumbent David Birnbach and challenger Kim Sousa Tuesday.

For the one-year School Committee seat, current Chairman Annie Gilbert topped challenger Paul Properzio to finish out the one year remaining of the seat previously held by Barbara L'Italien, who resigned to take her post as the district's state senator in January.
