Anyone driving by the Memorial Hall Library parking lot last Tuesday night might have thought the property was under construction, or perhaps in the midst of a public safety emergency.

Enormous trucks, bulldozers, fire engines, backhoes and even a police motorcycle were on hand, much to the delight of a gaggle of kids who, towing their parents along, climbed, sat, honked and generally got an up-close view of the machinery.

It was, simply, Truck Night, an annual event that delights local children and provides their parents with plenty of photo opportunities.

The event, at 2 No. Main St., included equipment from the Department of Public Works and the police and fire departments were available.
