Free lunch is available to all Andover High School students through the end of 2020, but the meals will have to be pre-ordered.

A statement from the school says organizers of the program admit it's a little confusing to start, but say they are confident the process will quickly become routine.

Remote Academy students need to place their meal order for pickup at Bancroft Elementary School. Hybrid students can pre-order from the cafeteria.

Cafeteria items must be ordered through the "Web Menus" app. This application is not new to students, however, it may be new to freshmen. The site will be used to order the hot meal of the day, pizza, and salads.

Pre-ordering allows employees to determine how much food to make, according to the statement. Lunch must be ordered by 9 a.m. on the day the student wants it and there will be no breakfast in the schools.

Hybrid students will eat either in the Dunn Gym or the cafeteria; food will be served out of both locations.

At the high-school level, either a parent or student is allowed to make the meal account, and the family can decide who is responsible for ordering.

Cohort Blue students order Mondays and Tuesdays. Cohort Gold students order on Thursdays and Fridays.

Seven days of breakfast and five days of lunch will be given out to hybrid students when they leave school Tuesday or Friday, depending on the cohort. These meals do not need to be pre-ordered.

Families are welcome to inquire by emailing taylor.pirog@andoverma.us with questions.
