Andover Youth Services turns 25 this year and favorite native son Jay Leno is expected to attend the party.

Leno is expected to be at the Cormier Youth Center on Saturday, Nov. 23, around 3 p.m.

"He will be meeting with the students who use the center and the sponsors of our 25th anniversary event which will be held that evening at 6 at Andover Country Club," said Mary Lyman, a former select board member who is now on the Youth Center's board.

She said the invite to Leno was sent with a video of Andover Youth Services teens doing all sorts of projects, including a teen working on a motorcycle.

"I think that's what did it and got him to RSVP," Lyman said with a laugh.

Leno's affection for cars and motorcycles is well known. He hosts a television show called "Jay Leno's Garage" which is all about cars.

The 1968 Andover High School graduate is a well-known comedian who hosted "The Tonight Show" from 1992 to 2009.

Appropriately, cars from the showroom at Woodworth's Motor, a sponsor of the youth event, will be at the center for Leno to enjoy while a 90-member singing group from Andover High School will perform.
