The Merrimack Valley Chapter of Hadassah recently held its annual installation and Hanukkah party in North Andover. The festive evening, which included an array of appetizers, latkes and desserts, was followed by a pound auction, which raised money for Hadassah’s many programs in Israel and the U.S.
Members of the 2015 board include Debbie Ginsberg of Andover, president; Louise Borke of North Andover, organizational vice president and Annual Fund chairwoman; Amy Goldman of Tewksbury, treasurer; Cindy Bernstein of Andover, recording secretary and publicity; and Winnie Schwartz of North Andover, corresponding secretary and cards.
Also, Iris Newman of Andover and Linda Davidson of North Andover, fundraising vice presidents; Judy Sciabarrasi and Sondra Finegold, both of Andover, membership vice presidents; Claire Shaby of Andover and Sherry Comerchero of Haverhill, community outreach and literacy; Rhonda Saunders of Andover, bulletin editor chairwoman and records administrator; and Ruth Rosensweig of Andover and Sharon Cores of North Reading, book group chairwomen.
The incoming board will be meeting soon to plan another exciting year of programs and fundraisers, Ginsberg said in a release.
Hadassah was founded 102 years ago by Henrietta Szold and is now the largest women’s organization in the U.S., as well as the largest Jewish membership organization. Hadassah raises money for programs in both the U.S. and Israel, including for the successful Hadassah Medical Organization.
