They're all thumbs — green thumbs, that is.

And their colleagues couldn't be happier about it.

To show appreciation for those green thumbs and their gardening skills, the Northern District of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts has honored two members of the Andover Garden Club.

Honored for their longtime work and contributions were:

Ann Lange, noted flower arranger, sculptor, and past president of the club. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Judy Wright, garden designer and long-time club member. She received a certificate of distinction. She has largely contributed to horticulture and programming during her time in the club.

Founded in 1927, the Andover Garden Club is a charitable organization that encourages the study and practice of horticulture, landscape design and floral design. The club also helps to beautify Andover, and protect and conserve natural resources.

A member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc., the local club provides both financial and hands-on support to a variety of municipal, educational and environmental organizations in the region.

Anyone interested in joining the club is encouraged to contact Liz Bell at or by phone at 978-475-3021.
