Three instruments will accompany an esteemed Greater Boston vocalist at an afternoon concert at South Church on Central Street.
South Church and S.E. Shires Co. will present a recital of works for trumpet, voice, organ and piano at the concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The concert, titled Sounds of Brilliance, will showcase three active greater Boston musicians. The vocalist is Jessica McCormack, while the organist and pianist is Cathy Meyer. Trumpeter Kenneth also accompanies at the concert which will be held in the church’s acoustically vibrant sanctuary.
The program features music spanning from the Baroque era to the 21st century, including a recent piece by local composer Robert Bradshaw.
Admission is free, but all donations will benefit the ongoing revitalization and expansion of South Church’s George Bozeman organ.
A reception will take place following the performance.
