Items were stolen from eight cars in the course of one night, police said, prompting them to urge residents to lock their vehicles.

The police log listed the thefts from the night of Sunday, July 7. Police said all the cars involved were unlocked and none of the vehicles were damaged.

Mostly loose change and a limited amount of paper currency was reported stolen from the cars, according to police. The total amount of stolen money was not known by police.

Investigators said they had no suspects.

"We ask that the public remain vigilant for any suspicious activity and please make sure they lock their vehicles at night and remove any valuables," police Lt. Edward Guy said.

According to the police log, the thefts happened on Lowell Street, Topping Road, High Plain Road, Harvard Road and Yale Road.
