The Friends of Harold Parker State Forest invite the public to the group's fourth annual meeting Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The meeting will be held at the North Reading Library, in the activity room on the lower level. People interested in learning about the duties of the Friends group, meeting board members and possibly getting involved are encouraged to attend.
Walter Kittredge, a Harvard botanist and Friends board member, will speak at the meeting on the natural beauty of Harold Parker State Forest. Kittredge is a lifelong resident of the area with a deep knowledge of the forest.
The family-friendly event is open to everyone.
