Two articles for purchasing a total of 2.38 acres of land near Fosters Pond were withdrawn by the Conservation Commission at the first night of 2011's Annual Town Meeting, Wednesday, April 27.
Conservation Commission Chairman Don Cooper said the articles were being pulled because the cost wasn't as low as the commission had hoped to negotiate.
"We don't have an attractive-enough deal to offer to you tonight," Cooper said. "The owner is asking for too high a price."
But with the withdrawn articles came the promise that, someday, they may return.
"We sincerely hope we have a good deal we can present at a Town Meeting in the future," Cooper said. "We hope that, when we do, we could bring it to you."
