All of Optima’s athletes placed in the top third. Schroeder and Lang's figure results, compiled with a split test, earned them spots on the eight-person East Zone All Star Team.
All four of the Optima duets entered in the duet competition placed in the top-12 of the preliminary round, and moved on to the finals. Schroeder and Li won the duet finals. Nedde and Lang placed fourth, Emily Ma and Sydney Ho of Andover finished 11th, and Rebecca Page and Riley Spring of Andover ended up in 12th place.

Athletes Sophia Ju and Grace Alwan, both of Andover, were among eight athletes to earn a spot on the All-Star Team at the East Zone 13-15 Championship meet.
Held exclusively for athletes in the 13-15 age group, nine ANA Synchro athletes traveled and competed. The meet drew 130 athletes from 17 teams – including teams from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Canada.
The All-Star Team is determined through a combination of scores on technical elements of synchronized swimming and a test of the athlete’s ability to do leg splits in the water. Alwan and Ju placed fourth and seventh, respectively, in the technical elements. And both passed the in-water split test, which earned them each a top-eight finish and a spot on the All-Star Team.
The two also paired in the duet portion of the competition, finishing with a Silver Medal. In the solo competition, Ruby Remati finished in fourth place.
This meet was also a qualifying competition for the U.S. Nationals Tournament, to be held in California in early April. Alwan and Ju qualified for their duet, and Remati qualified her solo.
ANA Synchro's next meets will be the Junior-Senior Zone Championship for athletes ages at least 15-years-old, the East Zone Invitational in March for ANA’s 12-and-under age group and the U.S. Nationals in April.
