Longtime Andover business Circles of Wisdom is relocating to Methuen.

After operating Circles of Wisdom in Andover for nearly 20 years, owners Cathy and Bob Kneeland said the move is reflective of their businesses's growth and a need for more space. The Kneelands closed the 90 Main St. Circles of Wisdom location Sunday, Aug. 12, and will reopen at 386 Merrimack St., Suite 1-A, Methuen, Aug. 23.

A grand opening including a psychic fair and other activities at the new location will be held Sept. 8.

The metaphysical book and retail shop sells items including books, crystals, aromatherapy oils, healing candles, incense, jewelry, statuary, and tarot card decks. The shop also holds events with local, national, and sometimes international speakers, and has readers and healers available for meetings with patrons daily.

Workshops at Circles of Wisdom are held on topics including alternative health, angels and ascended masters, animals, authors, creativity, crystals, divination, energy clearing, energy healing, mediumship demonstrations, the paranormal, personal development, shamanism and Native American studies, psychic and mediumship development, and spirituality. Patrons can also come to the shop for readings.

Bob Kneeland said the shop caters to several different modalities, and recognizes that everyone's pathway to enlightenment is different.

According to Kneeland, the move to Methuen is bittersweet.

"It was a hard decision because we have been here for so long, but we really outgrew the space," he said.

The Andover location allowed the Kneelands to hold workshops and bring in speakers to present to about 40 people maximum, and for any larger events Circles of Wisdom was forced to rent spaces from nearby hotels and other venues. The Methuen location will allow Circles of Wisdom to hold events for around 100 people, according to Bob Kneeland.

"We're literally just bursting at the seams," Bob Kneeland said. "We're excited about the new location so that we can have room to breathe and do bigger events. It's a little overwhelming, but really exciting."

He said he and Cathy will miss their Andover location.

"It is a great location," he said. "We have people who walk by, and there are a lot of other great businesses we love and eat out at a lot."

Cathy Kneeland bought the business about 20 years ago, according to Bob Kneeland. Since then, Circles of Wisdom has continued to grow.

"I'm really proud of my wife and all the work she has done here," he said.
