Members of the Kindness Collaborative descended on the Andover senior living facility, Atria Marland Place, to help spread some holiday cheer as the facility is currently closed to visitors and was fighting a COVID-19 outbreak when the visitors brought gifts and decorations.

"The Kindness Collaborative brought such joy and happiness to the staff and residents of Atria Marland Place," the senior living facility wrote on its Facebook page. "The act of Kindness is so appreciated and brought many smiles and gratitude. Thank you to the ELVES for such thoughtfulness."

The Kindness Collaborative was formed because of the COVID-19 pandemic for mask collection and distribution through the Andover/North Andover COVID-19 Community Preparedness & Support Facebook page.

That grew into a Facebook group for people seeking out other sorts of donations and now the group has more than 5,000 people from across the Merrimack Valley partnering in its efforts to be a distribution channel for whatever people may need.

Their mission is simple: spreading kindness one random act at a time.
