This is among the biggest questions you'll face this holiday season: Which Christmas tree do you choose? Holiday traditions and choices are about as personal as individual preference gets. Most people are loathe to deviate from what they've always known. Are you the kind of person who strings up white lights or colored ones? Do you go to church on Christmas Eve? Do you open presents with your loved ones on Christmas Eve, Christmas morning or some other time? Then there's the most essential question of all: What kind of Christmas tree do you decorate?

A REAL ONE: We go down to the Andover Youth Services lot, or some lesser establishment, and pick out the best fir we can find. A bona fide tree, grown in New Brunswick, makes the house smell like Christmas.

AN ARTIFICIAL ONE: Who wants to keep watering the tree and picking up needles off the floor? Buy one at the hardware store and you'll always know what you're going to get from one season to the next.

TREELESS: Let's face it, not everyone wants a tree, and not everyone celebrates Christmas. We'll enjoy the peace and quiet of the holidays without all of those commercial trappings.
