Andover won the battle of unbeatens with Acton-Boxboro, 93-85 on Friday. Andover improved to 11-0 while the Colonials dropped to 9-1.
Individual winners for Andover were Mia Galat (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Emily Clements (100 free, 100 backstroke), Rachel Landry (200 IM), Victoria Ambrose (500 free) and Jordy Clements (100 breaststroke).
Vic Ambrose won the 200 IM (2:17.12), the 100 breaststroke (1:15.10) and swam on the winning 200 frestyle relay as Andover downed Billerica 98-78 last Tuesday. Grace Alwan won the 200 freestyle, Maddie Quill took the diving and Emily Ma won the 500 freestyle for the Warriors.
Hartnett comes up huge
Sammy Shea and Caroline Buck each scored a goal and Andover dealt North Andover its second loss of the season, 2-1 last Monday. Darsie Peterson had two assists and Megan Hartnett made four saves for the winners.
Megan Hartnett made eight saves as Andover played fellow Merrimack Valley Conference and state power Chelmsford to a 2-2 tie last Wednesday. The two archrivals now have identical 13-1-1 records.
Caroline Buck and Katherine Furry each scored a goal, and Darsie Peterson had an assist for the Warriors.
Girls Cross Country
Cain in second
Sarah Cain was second overall in 18:06 as Andover beat Methuen (18-43) but lost to Lowell (23-35) last Wednesday. Grace O’Hara added a third (18:07) and Sarah Sullivan was 10th (19:06).
Shay, Warriors roll
Jessica Shay scored two goals to help Andover roll over Lawrence 11-0 last Thursday. Maddie Mucher, Shelby Ganem, Audrey Adam, Jess Moses, Kat Grygiel, Taylor Landry, Sara Dever, Gabby Gillette and Julianna Kennedy each tallied a goal.
Mac Lee earned co-medalist honors with a 35 but Andover placed third in a tri-meet with Haverhill and Lowell last Monday. Josh Grunberg was next best for the Golden Warriors with a 38 and Chris Nyhan scored a 42.
Andover finished seventh at the MVC Golf Championship last Thursday.
Andover lost to Central Catholic 16-4 last Wednesday.
Curreri notches two points
Stas Curreri, Raini Huynh and Edgar Mauge each scored a goal and Andover played Lawrence to a 3-3 tie last Thursday. Ben Riley, John Kuta and Curreri each had an assist.
Andover lost to St. John’s Prep 5-0 last Tuesday.
Andover bounces back
Julia McBride recorded 12 digs and eight kills as Andover downed Lawrence 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 on Friday. Olivia Gaspar added 15 service points and Sophia Wang chipped in with 17 assists for the winners.
Despite 10 service points and seven digs for Jillian Webber, Andover lost to powerhouse Barnstable 25-17, 26-24, 25-16 last Tuesday. Kendra Moore added six kills and five blocks.
Boys Cross Country
Connell leads the way
Devin Connell scored a team-best seventh overall in 15:15 as Andover fell to Lowell (15-48) and Methuen (24-32) last Wednesday. Vikram Daesety was next in for the Golden Warriors in 11th (15:27).
