Boys Basketball 

Andover completed its perfect regular season (10-0) and clinched the MVC Division 1 regular season title with a 66-47 win over North Andover on Friday.

Aidan Cammann was again a force with 21 points, while Luke Porier scored 13 points for the winners. Zayn Aruri added 11 points and 11 rebounds.

“We’re trying to play for the seniors to hopefully go undefeated if we can do it,” Camman said. “They didn’t get the season they wanted, but if we could give them the best season they can have, it would be great. It would be awesome to (go undefeated).”

The Golden Warriors were scheduled to host Haverhill in the MVC Cup semifinals on Tuesday.

“We want to make the best of what have right now,” Camman said. “We’re all happy to be out on the court playing. No one really expected that we would. We’re happy to get every game in that we can. But higher pressure games are always something to look forward to.”


Richie Shahtanian scored 16 points, with two 3-pointers, as Andover topped North Andover 72-48 last Wednesday. Aidan Cammann scored a game-high 17 points.

Girls Basketball

Foley, Hanscom star

Anna Foley notched 12 points as Andover bested North Andover 45-30 last Wednesday. Tatum Shaw scored a game-high 17 points, while Amelia Hanscom added 14 points for the winners.


Amelia Hanscom poured in 19 points and Anna Foley added 10 points as Andover beat North Andover 33-23 on Friday. The Golden Warriors were playing without All-Scholastic Tatum Shaw, who was out due to a possible COVID exposure.

Andover (8-2) was scheduled to face Chelmsford in the MVC Cup semifinals on Monday.


Bresnick leads the way

Gabby Bresnick was second in the all-around (36.65) and beam (8.75) as Andover topped North Andover 140.55-138.74 on Sunday. Molly Foster added seconds in the vault (9.35), bars (8.8) and floor (9.4) and was third in the all-around (35.65). Amanda Oltman was third in the beam (8.6).

Boys Hockey

Lynch goal for naught

Johnny Lynch scored a goal for Andover, which lost to North Andover 2-1 last Wednesday. JJ Quill made 20 saves for the Golden Warriors.

The Warriors were scheduled to play Lowell in the MVC Cup semifinals on Wednesday (5:30 p.m.)

Girls hockey

Adams scores three 

Andover led by a goal after one period, but fell to archrival Methuen/Tewksbury 3-1 last Wednesday. Lauren Adams scored the goal for the Golden Warriors, who were scheduled to face the Red Rangers again the MVC Cup semifinals this week. 


Despite two goals each for Lauren Adams and Lilly Reeves, Andover fell to Chelmsford 4-3 last Tuesday. Lillian Jagger made 27 saves for the Golden Warriors.


Warriors place fourth, fifth

The Andover girls placed fourth (471 points) while the boys placed fifth (445 points) in the North Shore Ski League Interscholastics last Thursday.
