Shea, field hockey surge past fellow unbeaten Chelmsford

Sammy Shea combined her dominant season with two goals and Andover dealt fellow powerhouse Chelmsford its first loss of the season, 4-1 on Friday. Anna Zdunczyk and Joanna Archambault scored the other two Warrior goals and Megan Hartnett made three saves as the Warriors improved to 11-0-0 for the season.

Kate Gregory netted a pair of goals and Andover bested Haverhill 5-0 last Wednesday. Emma Farnham, Joanna Archambault and Sammy Shea each added single goals while Jordan Torres had three assists.


Cain dominates

Sarah Cain was the top overall finisher in 20:14 and Grace O'Hara was right behind in second in 20:23 as Andover beat North Andover (18-37) but fell to Central Catholic (26-32) last Wednesday. Isabella Silveira was next best for Andover in eighth.

Sarah Cain was a team-high 14th overall for Andover at a 14-team meet on Saturday. Grace O'Hara (21st) and Isabelle Silveira (32nd) were next best for the Warriors.


McBrides does it all

Julia McBride led Andover in service points (25), digs (5), assists (18) and aces (7) as Andover rolled past Chelmsford 25-14, 25-13, 25-23 on Friday. Jillian Webber added 10 kills and four blocks.


Sophia Wang had 13 service points and Andover downed Lowell 25-6, 25-21, 24-26, 25-11 last Wednesday. Kendra Moore added six aces and Jillian Webber had five blocks.


Despite 12 service points, 14 digs and 12 kills for Julia McBride, Andover was shocked by North Andover 25-15, 25-23, 15-25, 25-16 last Tuesday. Sophie Wang added 16 assists for the Golden Warriors.


Connell paces Andover

Devin Connell finished a team-high fifth overall in 16:36 as Andover beat North Andover (26-29) and Central Catholic (25-32) in a tri-meet last Wednesday. Golden Warriors Andy Chaves, Vikram Daesety and Kevin Larney finished places 6-8 overall.


Warriors roll

Reverie Nedde won the 200 IM in 2:25.71 and Dreea Zetea took the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.90 as Andover cruised past North Andover 99-77 on Friday. Other Andover winners included Emila Ma (100 freestyle), Jenna Bukowski (200 freestyle), Lauren Bessette (100 butterfly) and Grace Alwan (500 freestyle).


Lee dominates

Mac Lee continued to deliver, winning the No. 1 spot 2-and-1 as Andover beat Haverhill 12.5-7.5 last Wednesday. Josh Gruenberg (4-and-3), Tyler Trapp (3-and-2), Chris Nyhan (2-and-1) and Matt Anton (1-up) also had wins for the Warriors.


Despite a 2-and-1 victory for Josh Gruenberg, Andover lost to Chelmsford 11-9 last Tuesday. Mac Lee (3-and-2) and Tyler Trapp (3-and-2) added wins for the Warriors.


Mauge goal for naught

Despite an Edgar Mauge goal, Andover lost to North Andover 2-1 last Tuesday. Stas Curreri assisted on the Warrior goal.

Andover lost to Lowell 9-1 last Thursday. Eoin Stack scored the Golden Warrior goal.


Rankin leads the way

Lydia Rankin scored one goal and assisted on another as Andover downed Lowell 3-0 last Thursday. Beth Nash and Sarah Dever added the other two Warrior goals while Gabby Gillette and Izzy Shih combined on the shutout in net.


Izzy Shih made 11 saves, but Andover fell to North Andover 1-0 last Tuesday.

Andover lost to Danvers 5-0 on Saturday.
