Trailing by two runs through four innings, Andover struck for six runs in the top of the fifth to break open the game on the way to a 7-4 win over red hot rival North Andover last Wednesday.

Patrick McConnell (2 for 4, 2 RBIs) and Henry Grebe each had big hits in the inning and Nolan Schirmer drove in two runs, as the Warriors end their regular season 11-9.


 Matt Potts had two of Andover’s four hits as the Golden Warriors fell to Austin Prep 5-1 last Monday. Aidan Ritter drove in a run for the Warriors.

Girls Tennis

Warriors fight for win

Caroline Yang and Annette Kim rallied for a 7-6 (11-9), 6-1 win at top doubles and Andover beat Lexington 4-1 last Wednesday. Corina Muntean (No. 2) and Sidney Conway (No. 3) each had singles victories and Anna Higgins and Grace Lyons took No. 2 doubles.

Tavenner tallies two

Abi Tavenner and Carissa Agostino each scored twice, but Andover lost to Wayland 20-7 last Wednesday.

O’Brien’s effort for naught 

Reilly O’Brien battled for a close 3-6, 3-6 loss at No. 2 singles as Andover fell to undefeated Lexington 5-0 last Wednesday.
